Crete, Greece, has 1000 metres of coastline and 2400 metres of mountains and forest, making it today's Eden on Earth. It is the largest Greek island and the fifth-largest in the Mediterranean. The main attraction of Crete is that it is blessed with being home to important Minoan archaeological sites, dramatic gorges, lovely cities with Venetian harbours and fortresses, and small coastal towns.

  • The Beaches of Crete are the island's beautiful beaches.
  • The Palace of Knossos. Crete's most important archaeological sites.

  • The Palace of Knossos: This place is believed to have been the palace of Minossos the King, a magical archaeological site. It’s a pre-Greek Bronze Age culture and the first maritime power in the Mediterranean. This complex has a huge court where bull-leaping sprits are conducted. It is believed that the Minoan kingdom has been devasted by natural calamities or invaders, and none has the right answer to this question.

During the Venetian period, Heraklion became known as the birthplace of artists. This place has produced artists like the famous artist El Greco and the famous writer Nikos Kazantzakis.
