  • The Dubai Museum is housed in Al-Fahidi Fort, which was built in 1787 to defend Dubai Creek. The walls of the fort are made with coral blocks and pasted with lime. These were traditionally used to build structures in those days. The upper floor of the museum is built with wooden poles, and the ceilings are traditionally made with palm fronds, mud, and plaster. In those days, the fort was the home of the ruling family, the garrison, and the centre of power. In the courtyard, you can see many boat palm fronds, mud, and plaster.

The right-side hall shows shared weaponry, while the hall on the left side exhibits musical instruments. The Arabians used to play music after the sunset and even dance, during those days. On the ground floor were displayed many aspects of Emirati life.

  • This place, also called the Bastakia neighborhood, was built to attract wealthy Persian traders who traded pearls and garments. It was constructed in the nineteenth century.The most scientific view here is that wind towers, which were a kind of natural air conditioning in those days, Here you can see the virgin Arabian architecture and its beauty in every corner of the city.
  • The home of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum, the former ruler, is now transformed into a museum. In those days, Sayeed’s father built this building to observe the shipping activities from their terrace. In this renovated building, after remodelling and renovating, you can see carved teak doors, wooden lattice screens across the windows, and gypsum ventilation screens with floral and geometric designs. The rooms are built around a central courtyard and, on top, a wind tower. Here are exhibited by the Dubai Museum of Historical Photographs and Documents, photos of fishing, pearling, and boat building, letters, maps, coins, and stamps.
  • Dubai Creek: This creek separates the city into two parts, Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south. In the old days, this was an attractive place for fishermen, pearl hunters, and divers. The Dhow Wharfage you can see here and some of the dhows anchored here are 100 years old. That is the attraction of this place.

Whereas in Dubai, you can walk around and see traditional coral-block and limestone buildings, a floating market, and shops selling crafts.
